1. Are you a yarn snob (do you prefer higher quality and/or natural fibers)? Do you avoid Red Heart and Lion Brand? Or is it all the same to you?
A bit of a snob, I prefer wools and natural stuff over artificial stuff. I avoid RH but Lion does have some wools and I loved Cotton-Ease.
2. Do you spin? Crochet?
I can crochet, but I don’t do it very well and would never make a garment for myself out of crochet, unless it was a very fine yarn, in which case I might get too bored to finish the project.
3. Do you have any allergies? (smoke, pets, fibers, perfume, etc.)
Smoke, Cats, Rabbits, Birds, animals in general. I hate patchouli, it bothers my asthma. So does incence.
4. How long have you been knitting?
Since 2001.

5. Do you have an Amazon or other online wish list?
Yes, Amazon and Froogle (in progress). See sidebar.
6. What’s your favorite scent? (for candles, bath products etc.)
Fresh stuff, like lemongrass, cucumber, melon, coffee, lightly scented things are nice. I hate patchouli, strong smells in general or overly flowery smells.
7. Do you have a sweet tooth?
Chocolate!
8. What other crafts or Do-It-Yourself things do you like to do?
Beading. Seed beads, smallish beads and wire. Not as much as knitting, but I occasionally like to try something out.
9. What kind of music do you like? Can your computer/stereo play MP3s? (if your buddy wants to make you a CD)
Fave band is Barenaked Ladies. I like what’s classified as ‘Adult Alternative’. Great Big Sea, John Hiatt, Ben Folds, Lyle Lovett. Motown, the Clash, Kate Bush. Is that confusing enough? I have hundreds of CDs, so I can play anything! I also have an iPod.
10. What’s your favorite color? Or–do you have a color family/season/palette you prefer? Any colors you just can’t stand?
I like green, but I am not sure it looks good on me. Love blues, purples, pinks. Browns and fall colors might not be so good for me.
11. What is your family situation? Do you have any pets?
1 Husband, no kids (trying though!), no pets.
12. What are your life dreams? (really stretching it here, I know)
Live off the grid in a solar home with a garden but still have directv, tivo, and a ups man arriving with stuff as needed.
13. What is/are your favorite yarn/s to knit with?
Wool, currently enjoying Merino Style from Knitpics. LOVE Touch Me, but can’t afford more than a few balls at a time.
14. What fibers do you absolutely *not* like?
Fun-Fur types, and squeaky acrylics.
15. What is/are your current knitting obsession/s?
None, really.

Re-mathed version of Kyoto from Knitty in Merino Style from Knitpicks.

19. Do you prefer straight or circular needles?
Circular, and double pointed, but can use straight too, on small projects. I actually use dp’s a lot for flat knitting.
20. Bamboo, aluminum, plastic?
Stainless Steel! Addi Turbos! Inox, wood, Crystal Palace or Rosewood. I don’t really like clover bamboo, aluminum or plastic needles, things tend to squeak on them.
21. Are you a sock knitter?
Yup, it was my first ‘real’ project.
22. How did you learn to knit?
Attended the Knit-Out in Santa Monica CA in Sept 2001 after spending the summer crocheting and realizing there wasn’t much to do with crochet. (For me)
23. How old is your oldest UFO?
Uh, there’s a tunisian crochet blanket from summer 2001 that’s about 75% done. That’s gotta be the oldest.
24. What is your favorite animated character or a favorite animal/bird?
Hmm, Keroppi? Batz Maru? Sanrio stuff is fun.
25. What is your favorite holiday?
Memorial Day, since it falls near and sometimes on my birthday. And there’s usually hamburgers.
26. Is there anything that you collect?
Dust. No, really. I need to clean more often.
27. What knitting magazine subscriptions do you have?
Interweave Knits is the only one left, I think.
28. Any books out there you are dying to get your hands on?
I would like to pick up that new Elizabeth Zimmerman one, but Amazon doesn’t have it, or something. Looks interesting. Otherwise, Amazon wish list is kept current. Oh, I almost forgot, I want Pacific Coast Highway by Alice Starmore. Yeah, I know I’m dreaming, but you asked!
29. Any patterns you have been coveting, but haven’t bought for one reason or another??
None that I can think of. Lacy things are nice, I would like to work on something lacy.
ETA: 30. What are your foot measurements, and what kind of socks do you like?
Large. like, 9″ around and 9.5″ long. I wear Birkenstock size 42, exclusively. What kind? hmm, crew socks, I guess? I have wanted to design some socks with a design up the back of the ankle to go with my clogs, but haven’t done it yet.
